Hey Friends:

So here it is. Plain and simple. I train hard. My clients train hard. We push cars and lift heavy stuff…

I’m a certified strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer in the Boston area. I’m certified through the NSCA as a strength and conditioning coach with distinction. I’m also certified through USA Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach.

Do you care about all of this jargon and the letters after my name?

The letters are important because yeah, I know what I’m doing. I’m certified, professional, and will keep you safe and healthy. But, I also CARE about my clients. I love fitness, training, and healthy living. I love getting up every day and going to help people transform their bodies and push themselves to their physical limits. When you train with me you will get my 100% undivided attention and you will see RESULTS.

Are you feeling like you are the end of your rope when it comes to fitness? Have you tried EVERYTHING to lose those last 10 pounds…to fit into those great summer clothes…to have more energy for your family and things that you enjoy? Do you look in the mirror and cringe instead of smile? Are you fed up with how discouraged you feel? Does it seem to get worse when  you try so hard to engage in a fitness routine only to have minimal results? At that point do you just give up and wait for the next quick fix to come around?

So here it is;. I can help you. If you are discouraged, tired, and feel like your fitness goals will never be met then you are in the right place. I’m going to break it down with three “ah-ha moments” that I promise you will change your life and your outlook on fitness and health. You will read these and probably shake your head and say “yeah right Callie, why would these things ever work? It’s totally backwards…”

Well let me ask you this…is your current fitness plan working? Okay then. Let’s give this a shot…

Ah-ha Moment #1- You are doing TOO MUCH cardio. What? How is that possible? Cardio is the key to weight loss. Well yeah you burn a lot of calories doing cardio but it’s a huge waste of time when it comes to fat loss and increasing your metabolism. Not to mention that is literally a huge waste of time. How many of you do 45 minutes of cardio? I could think of 100 ways to improve your fitness and fat loss in 45 minutes and it doesn’t include going in one plane of motion at one speed on a machine doing 1/2 the work for you. The key to fat loss is to build lean muscle and increase your metabolism to burn calories at rest. When you are not working out. It’s genious!

Ah-ha Moment #2- You are not lifting enough weight. I can guarantee that most of you who are reading this for the first or second time have fallen into the trap of lifting 15-20 repetitions with your strength training because you don’t want to get bulky. You will not! Women cannot produce testosterone and growth hormone at the same rate as men and it’s pretty much impossible to bulk up. If you want to come close though, keep lifting high repetition sets. This will place the muscle in a state of high tension which leads to increased size in that muscle. It is also another severe waste of time if you want to burn fat, build lean muscle and develop a fit and tight looking body. You MUST lift some heavy stuff with good safe form. This will tax your body, increase your metabolism for up to 36 hours which let me tell you, will burn a TON of calories. It’s awesome!

Ah-ha Moment #3- You need to eat MORE. Yeah I know it sounds crazy but I’m sure that most of you are restricting you calories in order to lose weight and drop that excess body fat. This will actually do a great job of reversing the process and force your body into protective mode, decreasing  how quickly you burn calories. We want you to burn calories at an alarming rate so this means fueling the fire (aka your body) every 3-4 hours with high quality calories. Eat things that will give you some value. Lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats, low fat dairy, and whole grains are ideal. Stay away from “empty calories” and avoid going long stretches without nutrients. This will speed up the metabolism and in conjunction with a solid strength training program, will decrease excess body fat in a snap!

Bonus Ah-ah Moment: This was actually an ah-ha moment for me. Here it is: the most effective way that my clients have lost excess body fat, gained more lean muscle, increased their fitness levels and overall energy, and had a great time doing it is…group training. This has been awesome and we are having a blast. Small groups of 2-5 people with common goals, motivating each other, pushing each other, and having a fun time exercising. It’s cost effective and there is nothing like it when you are looking to pump up your program.

Your Future…

No more feeling tired, sluggish, unattractive, and wasting your time with worthless fitness programs. After joining some of my small group personal training you will have it made. You will be fit, lean, energized, less prone to sickness, feeling more attractive, motivated, and you will have some extra $$ in your pocket from all that you saved with this training style!

The great news is that you can contact me for a FREE trial workout. Bring a friend and get started together, or I will set you up with one of my existing groups. Check out why so many people in the Boston and Cambridge area are getting fit, getting lean and athletic, and having fun doing it.

I created this blog as a resource to you. The person that wants to change, that wants a new lifestyle with strong abs, a lean and cut looking upper body and sleek legs. I’m sick of the hype and the fluffy junk you read in Shape Magazine. That will not work for you, I promise you that. And if it happens to work for a few weeks, you will then plateau, get frustrated, and start the vicious cycle all over again. You will not get fit and healthy and lose weight by doing tons of cardio, lifting 5 pound weights, and eating next to nothing. What you will have is a slow metabolism, a soft physique, and no energy. If you want to keep reading that crap and waste your precious time doing mindless workouts then you will not enjoy my blog or my training sessions.

If you are committed to change and to the new you, then you should keep reading.

Success in fitness,

Your Friend,
Callie
