13 Ways to Eat Healthy in Boston
Nutrition, strength training, and interval style conditioning are the most effective ways to lose body fat, get lean, and feel healthy and energized on a daily basis. If you are missing one of the three links, your fitness levels will be somewhat less than optimal.
Many people struggle with nutrition and healthy eating. There are several reasons for this but the most common is that in today’s fast-paced lifestyle, people do not plan ahead and often make poor choices at the office or when they get home and are starving because they did not eat all day. Here are 13 tips to help you focus your nutrition efforts. The last thing that you want is to work hard in the gym and not see great results because of poor nutrition.

1. Eat breakfast
2. Be conscious of your portion sizes
3. Fuel your body every 3-4 hours
4. Eat at least 9 servings of fruit and veggies per day
5. Include a small amount of protein with every meal and snack
6. Consume a post-workout drink (low fat chocolate milk or a scoop of protein with water and ice)
7. Stock up your refrigerator and cabinets with healthy options
8. Do not grocery shop on an empty stomach
9. Plan out how much food you need for the day, pack it, and eat only that
10. Avoid liquid calories such as soda, juice, and other sugary options. Stick to water
11. Enlist the help of a loved one, friend, or co-worker to keep you motivated and on track
12. Prepare your own food as much as possible. You can generally make healthier options than restaurants
13. Do not avoid carbohydrates; just include to the most beneficial ones (whole grains, veggies, fruits, legumes)
